So this weekend NYU took us to the Coconut Grove Beach Resort in Elmina, about a three hour drive from Accra. We left at 6:30 Saturday morning. Yeah, that's early. The resort is gorgeous. The beach is actually pretty, which can't be said for most of the rest of the coastline in the country - it's usually covered in trash and the water looks pretty polluted. Ghana was a while ago for me. Most of the journal entries have bits and pieces from the journal I kept when I was there. I spent the month of January there between college semesters doing research on children's health. I got to see some of the largest variety of healthcare systems in such a little country. The conversations I had with people in the process were really great too. It was really amazing.
