Small, But Unique Aug 19, 2012
The Central Park Zoo is located in the southeast corner of Central Park and so makes a nice stop either before or after wandering into the park itself. It is not quite as big as your typical zoo, but what I loved about it is how the animals are more out in the open than at other zoos. In the rain forest area the birds and trees were not behind glasses but roaming freely and even on occasion following you around. In the middle of the park was the tank for the sea lions who were hams and would follow you as you walked around the tank. It did not take too long to walk through the whole thing, but very neat to see the particular zoo with the back drop of the city of New York.
Red panda.
Sea lion.
One of the many birds in the rain …

Small but cosy Jul 19, 2010
Central Park Zoo is a really small Zoo, but it's very cosy. Especially the monkey island is nice.

If you have bought a New York pass, which gives you entrance to all the big attractions in New York, I would recommend to visit the zoo.

Hello from NYC!
This is one of my favourite places in The Big Apple. The Bronx Zoo is THE BEST! The photos of Central Park Zoo are wonderful. Thanks!

Central park zoo- Hidden amongst the trees! Dec 22, 2010
Ah this is a lovely sweet zoo. Its small but still has an impressive array of animals there. I mean polar bears in the middle of new york really?? YES REALLY!!! Yeah they didnt look 100% but its not their natural habitat so cant really expect them looking perfect! Was still good to see them as you dont realise how big they really are till you get up close!

They had monkeys too and we were lucky enough to see a baby one which was maybe 4 weeks old! Very cute! Oh and loved the sea lions, they were really cool and their enclosure is really well designed and gives a great viewing of them! Also dont forget the penguins, cant go to a zoo and not go see those little guys!!

If i remmeber correctly they have lemurs aswell which are great sometimes they are hard to see though we tried for about 10 mins!

The zoo is easily navigational too as the sea lion enclosure is slap bang in the middle.

This is defianetly a must see/do as its a quaint little zoo plus you forget where you are so could be a nice few relaxing hours away from the hustle and bustle of NY

The Central Park Zoo is located at 64th Street and Fifth Avenue and is open 365 days a year. Alright! The prices are pretty decent for New York standards; all the ticket prices are under $10 and if you are 3 and under you get in for free!

No, it isn’t the San Diego Zoo or even the Bronx Zoo, but it is in a location that is very accessible to most and is perfect if you are walking around and want more from the Central Park Experience.

The zoo is small but has a host of fun animals, though the sea lions tend to steal the show as they are smack dab in the middle and are hyperactive. You have to love that! There is a Polar Region which includes polar bears and penguins, and a Rainforest area which houses many different types of birds and plants. It is especially great in the Rainforest room in the winter, warms you up quickly!

My favorite part would have to be the children’s petting zoo. I like animals and I like to pet them! You can also feed them by buying food pellets form a machine that takes quarters. Just wash your hands afterwards if possible because the smell will stay with you all day. Enjoy!
