Restaurant ЦДЛ (Central House of Writers) is located in a mansion built in 1887 by order of Prince Boris Vladimirovich Svyatopolk- Chetvertinsky. The architector was Peter Boytsov. In the late 1890s, the house was purchased at auction by Countess Alexandra Andreyevna Olsuf'eva. The Emperor Alexander III, visited this house, there are meetings were held Masons and balls before the revolution.

At the request of Maxim Gorky's building was given to Writers Union In 1932.

In this walls Boris Pasternak was excluded from the Writers. Here once visited Indira Gandhi, Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush.

Restaurant served Soviet cultural elite, than the oligarchs of Yeltsin's time and

Prices are not high. Service is not as excellent as it was.
