1996 Olympic history Oct 01, 2017
I was finally able to see this place on a recent visit to Atlanta.

The last time I was going to visit the park, was during the 1996 Olympic games, but the park was closed due to the evil terrorist bombing the previous night.

I think the park is a nice and relaxing attraction for the city. It is nice to see that, especially after seeing many Olympic host cities leave the venues and sites in ruins after the games.

The park was clean, and there were lots of families enjoying it this day.

If you like Olympic history, then it is a must visit.

If you just want to grab a coffee and relax outdoors, then it is perfect for that as well.

The park is very accessible in downtown, and there are many attractions nearby.

Awesome Day @ Centennial Olympic Park May 06, 2015
There is plenty of stuff to see and do but the best fun is free! The entire place is pure fun and history. You can see the skyline, CNN, Turner Broadcasting and so much more. It's an awesome place to just people watch.

From the huge Ferris wheel to the trolley cars to the kids playing in the little wading pools playing between the sprinklers. You can see all the fun to be had here. We even saw a dance battle, all good fun and the crowd chimed in also.

It's located near some other also stuff that's completely in walking distance. The Underground to name one, wasn't much there but it was a nice walk to see the city and check some sights.
Fun day Sunday in the park!

One of the beauties of Atlanta Apr 25, 2010
The views in Centennial Olympic Park here in Atlanta, Georgia are amazing, the people are really very friendly and you get to see humor, glamor, joy, pleasant tasting food and the environment is always festive. Centennial Olympic Park's neighborhood was a run-down part of town. The Park sponsors community-wide free events,Family Fun Days. It's a place I think all would enjoy!

Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park is a remnant of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.  10 years after the games were held, this park has become the beginning of a 'revival' for the downtown area.  No longer are businesses and attractions leaving the downtown area, they're relocating here.

In the last few years, Centennial Olympic Park has seen the addition of attractions such as the Georgia Aquarium, the world's largest aquarium at over 8 million gallons.  Also in the area is the headquarters for CNN and Coca-Cola's The World of Coca-Cola.  Many high-rise condos and other residential properties have sprung up bringing a very young, energetic crowd to the downtown area.

Admission is FREE.  There really isn't a lot to actually 'do' here but it's a great place to meet up and relax.  Great place for concerts, even during the business day at lunch, and in the summer there's 'Screen on the Green'.  There's a memorial from the bombing that took place here as well as other features (fountains, etc).  It's a short walk from any of the downtown hotels.

GETTING THERE:  Take MARTA to the GA Dome/CNN Center Station (W1 on the West Line).
