Quetzaltenango cemetery and memorial park is really huge comparing to the city that it serves. It must be that it serves the whole metropolitan area. Paths in the cemetery are mostly very fine grass which gives sense of the nice park filled with interesting monuments. Graves are mostly family chapels or kind of multilevel structures with plaques for each occupant. Some chapels are trade chapels, made for workers in specific area, such as textile, newspaper or metal workers. Oldest graves are located closest to the entrance, and they are nicest looking and the most diverse. On the outskirts are newer graves and kind of graveyard family hotels, buildings with 20-30 spots for family members.

I see cemeteries in my travels sometimes. Some people don't like the experience, but I find it interesting.
