Cementerio General in Santiago is the largest cemetery that I have ever seen. It is established in early 1800 and it is the place where most of the presidents and famous Chileans ended up buried. Part of the cemetery is a protected area with the status of a museum, and guided tours are offered. It is absolutely beautiful and huge. Streets and rows of mausoleums cover all different styles and religions, almost like some kind of grand city.

It is very easy to get to the cemetery and it is best to go with Metro train. Be prepared to spend few days going slowly thought the details and expressions of love and sadness.
