Turkish Baths - The one to go to! Apr 20, 2008
I went to a couple Turkish Baths and rate this one as the best.
http://www.cemberlitashamami.com.tr/ It's a beautiful old hamam. Well situated in the middle of town. The people are friendly, you can stay as long as you like. They have showers and also will scrub and wash you down. I had the full luxury package and have to admit that the massage was terrific! When you are finished they wrap you up in warm towels and you float out the door. You can also get a shave if you are really feeling like being pampered. Then sit and have an apple tea or other beverage while you wait for your friends... or just chill anyway. I also went to the highly rated Cagaloglu Hamam and was very disappointed and would recommend AGAINST you going to it. The people were rude, expected a bribe, the massage and scrub was crap and they didnt let me stay as long as I wanted, and then they didnt even have showers. Part of the Turkish Delight travel blog |
