If you are coming to Japan and need a cell phone for business or are just want to have a way for people back home to contact you I recommend a rental/pre paid cell phone from Narita or Kansai airport.

There are many different cell phone providers as Japan is a leader in cell phone technology and usage. Cell phones are constantly incorporating additional functions, such as internet browsers, games, cameras, televisions, and radio's.

A rental/pre paid cell phones in Japan are also handy to have if you are travelling around for a few weeks and need to change, check or confirm reservations along the way.

The cell phone rental places at the airport are way too expensive (at least the charges for calls are crazy).
Best to rent online in advance.
A friend used Rentafone Japan
www.rentafonejapan.com
-they seem to have the best rates and have good service

I don't know about service, but if you rent one near the train staion (lower level) at terminal 2, it's cheaper than higher levels.
