Cute Winery in a Quaint Little Upscale City Jun 21, 2010
This little winery is a little out of the way, but the city it is in is certainly worth the few extra miles to drive through.
Beautiful masonry buildings dot the rolling hills in the historic portion of the city. Restaurants, steepled white churches, gift shops and bed and breakfasts line the street.
The winery itself is clustered in among other shops. Wine tasting is free and there is a good selection to choose from. Wines are reasonably priced and the building is visually appealing. On the day I was visiting it was pouring outside. Parking is shared among all the shops to it gets tough to find a parking space. Inside the people were friendly, though, ironically, they didn't talk about their wines to tasters, which is odd for a winery.
The wine itself was a pretty good quality. They offered a big selection of sweet wines, which are not my favorite.
It's a cool city, go check it out and bring your camera!
