The Scenery alone around the Cedar Creek Grist Mill makes it worth the trip. It's like driving into the past. Heavily wooded and a beautiful stream doing the same thing today as it did over a hundred years ago. The soothing sounds of the rushing water may allow the visitors time for reflection of those times. The south side of the creek has four picnic tables to those fortunate enough to lay claim and allow a great view of the stream, the mill and the covered bridge.

Cedar Creek Grist Mill Jun 03, 2006
When researching my wife's family history, we found that one of her direct ancestors, George Woodham, built this Grist Mill in 1876 with two of his sons. Since it was just over the river, we decided to go give it a visit.

It is located on Cedar Creek and the surroundings are quite beautiful. Inside the mill, you learn about how it works and get a tour. Basically, a Grist Mill is a operated by water and large stones. They use them to grind flour and livestock feed. It is still used today, and if you check out the event page (http://www.cedarcreekgristmill.com/calendar.htm), you can attend special events.

If you want a serene and educational experience and are nearby, this would make a fun trip.
