Long drive away from Fortaleza (nearly 4 hours) and then you might need a 4x4 car to actually get to the village. But it's worth the trouble.
Jericoacoara (or just Jeri) is a protected area with great lagoons and a lively night life. No banks, public eletricity, garbage... just how life should be :)

My 2nd time through Brazil, I felt there was one last obstacle in South America for me to "conquer" -the Amazon. But it all started out in Rio with the Mecca of Brazialian Jiu-Jitsu, the legendary Gracie Barra Academy. Good times, interesting country.

Most people stay in Fortaleza and enjoy the beach and the city. But there are opportunities to go inside Céara and see more of the area. The nature is stunning, you are not in the Amazone yet but in the mountains you can enjoy the nature. We took a trip "Inside brazil" and took several walks in th…

Our bus ride from Fortaleza to Canoa Quebrada took twice as long
as it was supposed to and since we weren´t feeling well to begin with,
by the time we made it there we were quite cranky. Luckily a really
nice woman was waiting there as we got off the bus to show us pictures
of her pousada (lik…
