Cayo and beach of Las Brujas May 09, 2017
Cayo las Brujas is about 50 kms from Remedios, and once again you have to cross a "pedraplen" to get there and also to Cayo Santa Maria. The cost of using your car across the causeway is 2 CUC per car, and don't forget your passports as they will be checked. Only foreigners and Cuban workers at the hotels allowed. More and more hotels are being built and the scenery will certainly not be as nice in a few years. There are a few pink flamingos to see but are a fair way from the road.

The beach is really the only thing to do on the Cayo and most of you have to pay. There is one part though (for the moment) that is free, has beach chairs and shades and nobody come around wanted to be paid. Actually the material is probably owned by the Villa las Brujas, but they seem to have abandoned this part of the beach. When we were there, at the beginnin of the beach there were a few Cuban workers on their break and one other couple and child a bit closer to the Villa. Otherwise nobody on the beach, although with the wind it was a bit chilly. There were a few more people we could see close to the villa.
