We spent five nights in the Melia Cayo Coco all inclusive resort on Cayo Coco. Cayo Coco is a large sandbar island off the north coast of Cuba's main island, and it's linked to the mainland by a causeway. We flew from Havana direct to Cayo Coco, which unfortunately involved a 4am pickup from the hotel. Cayo Coco airport is on the island itself, and a short drive from the majority of the resorts. I have ventured to a few tropical locations in Hawaii and Mexico, but none have won me over like Cuba.  You see pictures of places like this and can't believe they really exist...but I found it! Cuba is one of the most beautiful places I have been to in the world.  The sand is white and soft, and the colors of the ocean amaze you in their brilliance.
