nice caves, but not extremely special Aug 20, 2001
I went to the caves of Jasov, one of the caves in the Slovak Karst (the Aggtelek Karst is over the border in Hungary), as a daytrip from Kosice.

They were quite nice, though they didn't look very different from the caves I've visited elsewhere (mainly in Belgium). The biggest difference was that there weren't a lot of visitors, the tour was just a small group. Had the tour guide not just spoken Slovak, I would actually been able to understand her, instead of being stuck somewhere in the back. At one spot, there were bats flying right over our heads.

If you have some extra time in the area, it's certainly nice to go here, but I wouldn't say it's an absolute must-see.
