Best place in Liverpool Apr 20, 2015
If you're a Beatles fan in Liverpool then you're probably aware of the Cavern Club and have put it high on your "Liverpool To Do List". But even if you're not a massive Beatles fan you still should visit this place. On some days it's free to enter but at the weekend it'll cost you a little something to enter (not much though!)

The club is famous for being somewhere The Beatles have played but they are not the only famous acts to have stepped foot on the stage here. The Cavern Club has seen the likes of Queen, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, The Who, just to name a few! When you walk into this place you instantly sense the history and the importance of the club. Although I didn't realise it at the time, but it is not the original club. But apparently it was rebuilt using as many of the original bricks as possible.

But that's enough of the past. Even if you're young and have no idea who these past legends are, if you are a fan of rock you will want to visit. They still have local talent play and this made it an enjoyable visit. I only wish I had spent longer here!

A must for Beatles fans Oct 31, 2013
If you're a big Beatles fan, which I'm guessing is pretty much everyone who's in to rock music, then a trip to the place where the Fab Four made their name is akin to a holy pilgrimage.

The club may not strictly be as it was when they played there, but it has been rebuilt to closely resemble the original club as possible, and the famous stage on which they performed is still intact. This is the top photography spot, and it also features a 'wall of fame' of all the bands who've played there.

Live music is frequently played at the club: mostly local and up and coming acts, but time it right and you'll get to see an established artist. Sir Paul himself last played here in 1999. I was lucky enough to see a Beatles tribute act when I was there, and this definitely helped me enjoy the experience even more!

A great night out Mar 21, 2012
If you're in Liverpool and you want a great night out the chances are you'll head for the Mathew Street area of the city. Mathew Sreet bustles with nightlife with a wide range of bars and clubs to attract those out for a good time.

The Cavern Club on Mathew Street is the famous club where the Beatles used to perform in the 60's, although this isn't actually the original club, that was demolished in 1973, but it is an identical building located almost on the same site as the original.

We were at the Cavern Club to see the Mersey Beatles, a fabulous Beatles tribute band. We had seen the Mersey Beatles before in a different venue and they were absolutely superb, so to see the in the Cavern Club would be something very special.

The club is actually in a basement so you enter down a couple of flights of steps. You immediately get a sense of intimacy, this is a small venue with low arched ceilings, brick pillars and crowds of people. Getting a drink can be a bit of a struggle with a small bar and lots of thirsty people but considering this we were always served quite quickly.

As the band came on, the floor area and the archways lining the club were packed with people eager to party. The atmosphere in there was absolutely tremendous and the band were fantastic. They sounded exactly like the original Beatles and with their Beatles suits and wigs they looked the part too. People danced and sang along to all the fabulous Beatles songs and despite the crowds the club never felt claustrophobic. The band even had natural witty banter amongst themselves and with the crowd between songs and it all gave a real sense of what it must have been like at the club's height in the 1960's.

We had a brilliant night out and for Beatles fans the Cavern Club is highly recommended, especially if the Mersey Beatles happen to be playing during your visit.

Club/pub with outstanding history and great atmosphere Apr 21, 2011
The Cavern is a club where the Beatles' stardom started. When in Liverpool this place is a MUST because it has the atmosphere of the sixties especially when live music performance takes place. You can also see people of different age and nationality in the Cavern. This club is very special, you'll never confuse it with any other place.
