A Cave with Multi-Levelled Lakes Apr 08, 2009
The Cave of Lakes lies at the limestone mountain of Amolinitsa in Kastria, some 17 km from the town of Kalavryta. (Kalavryta is around 203 km from Athens). It is called cave of lakes because of several strings of lakes inside the cave. But unlike others, this cave has a unique feature that is not common to any other caves. The lakes cascade in three different levels, making it a rare creation of nature. The strange formation of stalactites and stalagmites brought additional admiration to the visitors. The artistic lights that create reflections to the stalactites, the stalagmites, and the body of water alike, added another extra ordinary attraction. The man made steel bridges connecting each lake, made it possible to hop from lake to lake.

There were tour guides assisting the visitors to explore this natural wonder, really a rare creation of nature.
