Cremona Cathedral Feb 27, 2017
The Cathedral of Cremona is known as the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta in Italian. It is the seat of the Bishop of Cremona.

Construction of the cathedral began in 1107 and the building was probably finished in around 1170.

Inside the cathedral there are several beautiful frescoes of the Stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph among others.

Pairs of lions guard the outside of the cathedral and nearby baptistry. I thought these were lovely and very photogenic. The facade of the cathedral has a really beautiful rose window and many sculptures.
