Apr 12, 2006Definitely a must see for any visitor to Paris. From the imposing gothic facade to the cavernous interior, everything about this place is architecturally striking and impressive. Be sure not to miss the creepy looking gargoyle buttresses on the sides of the cathedral and the small park to the back. |

Located at the center of the city, the ile of the the city, Notre Dame
is not only a center spiritual hub for people but the center of the story by Victor Hugo "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". It is a massive engineering feat and full of beauty and spirituality. Be sure to go to the park behind Notre Dame, go down the stairs and see the memorial created for those who were deported and killed by the Nazi's. It is a truly moving experience and the architect did a spot on job of creating a true memorial. Very very moving. Part of the EU January 2006 travel blog |

Following the camera incident, we decide to enter the cathedral and then pay the extra money to climb to the top. To get to the top of Notre Dame Cathedral… Stairs in Paris |

I visited Paris in early March, 2009 and it is one of the most beautiful cities I've seen. There are many sides to Paris, with something appealing to everyone. Whether it be famous landmarks, art museums, architecture, historic churches,…Notre Dame Cathedral. The Ile St. Louis is famous for ice cream and I lost track of how many scoops I ate. The Ile St. Louis is a nice escape from all the tourists around Notre Dame. The crowds seem to melt… Paris is Magnifique |

Ah Paris! A gang of 9
of us (minus Greg, he can explain his weekend later) set out on Friday via
train from Luxembourg to Paris. The
train ride was only a couple hours and we left early enough in the morning (6
am ish) that we still …Notre Dame Cathedral and eat some tasty, tasty
crepes (banana and nutella crepes are the bomb). Notre Dame is an amazing piece of
architecture. Massive ceilings,
beautiful stained glass, just a marvel.
It actually reminded me a lot of the National Cathedral… Paris, France |

The waters of the River Seine have always been the heart and soul of Paris,
dating back to the days when the Parisii tribe first established a fishing
village on the island now known as Ile de la Cité — between 250 and 200 B.C.
The Seine Riv…Notre Dame Cathedral, the place du Parvis Notre Dame, and the Ste-Chapelle are found in the center of Paris on the Ile de la Cite ( Island of the City) in the middle of the Seine River . A Seine cruise is an excellent way to experience… The Seine River |

We were lucky to have a Metro stop 3 minutes from our hotel, so gettig around was easy. I had made a rough plan of things to do each day so-as to fit in as much as possible in our short trip. Today was the Right Bank. First on the agenda was Sainte …Notre Dame cathedral I wasn't sure what to expect. I always associated Notre Dame with the Disney movie I had seen as a child, 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame', so I didn't have a realistic image of it in my head. As we neared… Day 2 - Ile de la cité |
