Marseille Cathedral (Cathédrale de la Major) is a national monument of France, it's the seat of the Archdiocese of Marseille. It's probably the biggest Church in Marseille, its style is Neo-Byzantine as Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde (the most famous church in Marseille). You can visit it for free. Inside you would see a lot of local and regional flags. Within 2013, a national museum about mediterranean and european civilizations will be built close to the Cathedral. You can also visit the castle Saint-Jean which is within 10 minutes by foot.
