The finest example of Gothic architecture Sep 12, 2015
They don't get any better than this, do they?! For years and years, the obvious draw to the Alsace region has been this fine and mighty Cathedral, which for a certain part in the late 19th century was the tallest building in the world. The cathedral also has a special place in the heart of Alsatians.

Entrance to the Cathedral is free but you have to pay a fee to access the tower, as well as a special tour of their astronomical clock.

The inside is impressive. Several cultural changes to the region have had an effect on both the architecture as well as the decorations within (like the stained glass paintings and successive high altars). If anything, this is such a tourist draw it's constantly noisy and hard to appreciate the place in solitude.

I can't say much about the Astronomical clock because on face value, it was very similar to the one I'd seen in Prague. But it did look brilliant for what it's worth.

Overall, great place to visit and definitely should be on one's bucket list.
