Cataract Pyramids Resort Cairo Reviews

Stayed at this resort with my tour. From the appearance I had high expectations as this resort has a beautiful lobby, huge pool and very nicely landscaped. There are also a few restaurants and a handful of shops on the premises too. Our tour started in Cairo and then left for Upper Egypt to return to this resort for the remainder of our tour. First I'll start with the beginning couple nights in Cairo/Giza staying at this resort. To me there seems to be different quality of rooms in retrospect. My first room, shared with a friend was medium size and really nothing to write home about. The bathroom was mildewy too but the beds were comfortable. My friend banged her head on the staircase which oddly intrudes on the entrances to the rooms so look out. We had dinner several times in the outdoor restaurant (off to the side of the pool) which was OK but the service is terribly, painfully slow from ordering to getting the check. On return we had a much nicer room! These nicer rooms are located around the pool area and banquet hall. Rooms were much larger, bathrooms were larger and LESS mildewy than before and we had a terrace that overlooked the pool. There seems to be weddings going on all the time and music well into the night but that didn't bother any of us at all. Overall it's a nice resort minus the mildewy bathrooms and rather peaceful.
