Amazing medieval dinner at the Castle San Miguel Jul 25, 2009
The medieval Castle San Miguel is amazing and you get an authentic feeling when you go inside!
At the entrance decorated with historical armors, swords, chests and scrolls of the medieval epoch the Count (Don Rodrigo)and his daughter (the young Countess) welcome you to their Castle. Dinner is served in the Tournament Hall just as it was done in medieval time and guests drink the soup from the bowl and eat a half of chicken with its garnish by hand. The place is quite dark so you can`t see very well what you`re eating which isn`t ideal when you eat a pretty greasy food with fingers :-) The dinner is completed with dessert and plenty of wine. During dinner a show of medieval fights and games takes place in the presence of the Counts (in their Royal box seats) and the guests support their colored knight. Loud cheers are very welcome when the knights enter the arena to introduce themselves to you and begin performance of medieval fighting and games. Guests wear a colored apron that corresponds with the colored seating and so that they can identify their knight. The horse displays are good, and the idea that you support a particular Knight is great - pretty much everyone gets into the spirit of it. The sand arena where the horses and knights perform is 50 meters long. After the Tournaments the guests re-enter in the twenty-first century and move to the Ballroom Hall where Orchestra, Comedians, Acrobatics, Spanish Ballet, etc. perform on a large stage and the guests can dance or drink something at the bar. |
