Castle Rock Hostel

This hostel has everything you want, first of all the hostel is RIGHT OUTSIDE Edinburgh Castle. It has a great Scottish vibe to it, the staff is awesome, a huge lounge room with pool table, games, and FREE internet. There is loads of information to extend your trip beyond Edinburgh and see other parts of Scotland, and the staff will work with you to make your stay in Edinburgh and/or Scotland as good as possible. Also they have a sense of humor, all the rooms have a concept behind them, my room was “underwear” so all the beds instead of having numbers, they were called “knickers”, “thongs”, “edible” and so on… Other rooms were Scottish bands, Scottish football teams, etc.

This place is right in the heart of the city, so it doesn't take long to walk anywhere. There are different rooms available at different costs. There were three of us together, so we got a private locked room that had three beds in it. The bathroom was a shared one for the whole floor. No problems, though. The breakfast offered was great, and was very filling. I highly recommend it if you're looking to stay in a hostel.
