The heat yesterday was huge, over 40 and we had to be careful. After buying the bus tickets for this weekends trip to santiago, my classmate and I went to the Cafe y Te place which has airconditioning and had a lovely cup of herbal tea -which was very refreshing. Always have the fruits of the forest which has strong berry flavours and is slightly sweet.
On days like this at 11 at night while walking I sat on a stone bench and it almost burnt my bum....

...and seriously felt like i stepped into a proper fairytale. it's a very pretty city and prolly looks much like it did back in like, oh i dont know, the 13th century? it's a nice lil college town with a lot of history (one of the four "leading lights" in medieval europe) and has managed to keep some legends alive. but man was it cold! brr. quite a change from the incredibely lovely weather we've been having here in Madrid. I took the bus there using the auto-res company and even though they'...

Well:
I had no money saved so I had to think in some cheap thing to do, so I joined to my friends planning for travelling to Salamanca. I had a great time there, visiting such a beautiful city, having good "tapas" in the bars, and watching the Easter (semana santa) processions.

For two years I have been visiting cities all around Spain and I must say that after spending a day in Salamanca I would rank it on the very top of the list. I got up early so I could take some early day photos. From Madrid it takes you not longer than 2 hours (about 250kms). The roads to get there are not that fast, as there is no direct highway from Madrid. Before getting there it is advisable to get a hold of a map so you plan your visit in advance. Salamanca is not that ...

I left Baños late in the day after saying goodbye to Marketa but not before meeting two curious French ladies (of age!). Instead of carrying packs on their backs, thay had little trolley contraptions which they wore with a harness. It looked strange but seemed to work and was not hard on their backs. They could only travel on the roads though, which must be really hard on their feet as the tarmac gets extremely hot in the afternoons.
I have been walking without blisters for a few days now (...

We rented a big Citroen Diesel Sedan in Madrid for our trip to Segovia for 180 Euros for three days, and it was the best we could do without reservations. Getting out of Madrid was an interesting endeavour and we made a couple of wrong turns before we got it right.
The drive to Segovia was very beautiful. It took us over the Sierra Guadarramas. These mountains formerly were the site of the royal hunting grounds. The road had lots of hairpin turns and we went...
