Castello del Nero Spa & Hotel Florence Travel Reviews

Jul 09, 2007
Castello del Nero is situated in the town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, in the heart of the Chianti wine region of Tuscany, just 25 minutes from Florence and Siena.
As member hotel of "The leading small hotels of the world" it offers the best possibility to stay luxurious and enjoy spa and pool facilities. The hotel which offers 50 rooms was completely renovated for 2 years and was finished in 2006. Now it offers modern facilities in an historic ambience. The large outdoor pool invites guests for relaxing. It's just situated next to the Spa facilities of Castello del Nero.
Drinks are served at the pool bar. During summer it is nice to have dinner on the large terrace with a marvelous view over the hilly olives- and vineyards. They offer a (even small) starter buffet. For main dish you can order a variety of fresh fish directly from the chef at the BBQ.
(not everyday!) The staff is polite but not attentive everytime.

Conclusion: A great place to stay if you'd like to relax and prefer good Spa facilities combined with a historical but modern rooms / suites. Many north american guests use this hotel as their accomodation to stay during their visit of Italy. It is indeed recommendable but expensive.

rosen_rachel says: This hotel was fantastic! We had a gorgeous suite over looking the Arno River and the Ponte Vecchio. The suite had an apartment like feel, and a contemporary design. The staff were a little snooty but with a room and view like we had we were willing to overlook it!
aparker1981 says: This place is amazing. I wouldn't suggest staying anywhere else. Think of it more like a bed-and-breakfast than a hostel. Clara is the best and keeps the place clean, safe and fun. Her cooking is great and her style of running her hostel helps create an environment where you get to know the othe...
