Castel Saint Denis Hotel - Montreal - Cheap Budget Hotel Deals and Reviews

Castel Saint Denis is great for the budget traveler with simple, basic needs. We paid $80/nite for the 3 of us. We booked a 2 doublebeds room -the biggest room they have. The room was clean with comfortable beds. It just smelled smoky (even though the establishment is non-smoking) so spray lysol or perfume - it'll do. The hotel is surprisingly quiet, even on a street with a nightlife - Saint Denis is popular for restaurants and bars. Anne-Marie, the owner, was very sweet and inviting. She struck up a conversation with us before we left for the day. Stay here, you will not be disappointed!!!! :)

Pros: Cost; Location; Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff; Comfortable beds; Free breakfast; Bus stop right at corner; 2 Metro stations not far walk; Quiet; free wifi; convenience store 2 doors down, restaurants/bars on the same street; Very good location to most downtown sites and Old Montreal

Cons: Have to use pay phone in lobby; bathroom is small, no ventilator; room reeked of smoke; no elevator, but 3 floors anyway
