Relaxing Drink Aug 29, 2012
Cassidy's used to be what most of my friends would describe as 'an old man's pub!' but it has reopened under the same name but with a new lease of life.

It is undoubtedly one of my favourite spots in Dublin.

It's lovely for a quiet drink. The outside is host to an array of old-style tables and chairs. As soon as you walk in it would best be described as walking into your living room, if your living room was sultrily-lit and had a constant fire glowing in the hearth and randomers sitting around drinking at the bar!

They sell a lot of European unusual beers.

It is covered with red lampshades, candles, old style furniture and kooky designs. One of the walls, when it first opened, was totally blank except for massive writing across it stating 'IDEA MISSING!' ... since, people have taken to writinbg inspirational messages across it or the usual 'i woz ere' 2012!' The music is great, the staff are great, they're all young and alternative looking and to top it all off... there are board games scattered across the tables, Buckaroo, Connect 4 etc etc. It's all about the entertainment!

Last time i went there they had Christmas tree fairy light adorning the roof for all to admire and a tonne of Euro 88 bunting running criss-cross across the roof.

This is an alternative spot and is full of young people. Studenty vibe!

Love it!
