Casino Royale Goa
Casino Royale Goa Reviews
Finally a Place in India for Poker and other Slot machines Feb 21, 2011
I wish i could write two different reviews on this, one on the poker room and another on the rest of the casino Royale.
Lets start with Poker Room, i am a poker guy from India and finally it was good to see a professional room managed in Goa with around 6 Cash game tables (no limit hold em), Games starting from Rs 100/200($2/$4). I was extremely satisfied that they hired some one who knew what poker was, Craig Wildman from England and also a nice Trainer (another white guy). Anyways, i was there for 2 nights around 10 hours each and Craig was kind enough to waive my entry fee for 2nd Night (Rs 2500). Had a great time with alot of fishes on the table and some pure gambler, i wouldn't say there weren't players but the ratio was low, i guess i was lucky that day.
Further, another attraction is the bad beat jackpot since they just started it few months ago the jackpot is HUGE right now standing at around Rs 1300000 ($30000) which can be won if Aces full of Jacks get beaten by better hand (Generally i have seen Bad beat of that high amount goes to Quads beating Quads and above).
Another great feature is that they have 2-3 smoking tables and rest non smoking tables, so you kind of have an option if you don't smoke. Free food service, drinks and snacks on table... 5% rake on pot larger than Rs 2000 and Rs 100 goes to bad Beat jackpot from Pot larger than Rs 5000.
Casino floor is on 1st floor of casino royale which is okeish but for people who haven't been to Casino (most indians have not) it is still great with Black jack, roulette and all kind of slot machines... Top floor of Casino royale has Nice buffet till 3 Am but the good wasn't that great. They also claim they have some entertainment going on till 12 Midnight but the entertainment was just couple of gals singing Byran Adams and Beyonce (that's barely entertaining).
I am able to break this down for 3 types of people...
1) If you are first time casino guy... Go for it at Rs 3500 (2000 in chips that can be used only on Roulette and other games... not poker)... you can't cash them until you win with these... So you better loose... This is the best you can get in India.
2) If you are going only for poker, yes its a definitely recommendation for your nice grinding and target some good fishes.
3) If you have been to Casinos' before and do not play much poker... There isn't much you can do... Rather spend that Rs 3500 on beaches and good food there than going to Casino Royale and getting bored to death...
