If u r traveling to China, and in general to Asia, keep in mind, that ur card wont be accepted in most of the places like restaurants or when paying for entrances or for hostels.
U might have problems even at ATMs, coz not all cards are in use there. Especially visa card holders can - when run out of money - end at the cash machine swearing loudly. If u r lucky, and ur card will work, they will charge u a lot for withdrawal ur own money. It's safer to bring some $$$ (us dollars) or euros, just in case ur card fails at the ATM. So remember: BRING SOME DOLLARS! It will save u for sure, coz the old good dollar is still the best currency;)  Part of the Azja / Asia 2009 travel blog |
