The Casablanca Guesthouse was awarded the 'best small hotel award' in 2003 by the Belize Tourism Board - and after staying here I feel it was well deserved. It's in the center of town on Burns Avenue, within walking distance to anything you'll need, from restaurants, to tour companies, to a grocery store - great location. The accommodations are simply but comfortable, and at an incredibly good price. I would recommend a room with a/c, but there are only 9 rooms, so book ahead if you can. I booked my room 2 days beforehand, and was lucky enough to find space there. Betty Guerra, the owner, was so helpful from the start - from booking the room for me through email, to checking me in personally upon arrival. There is a cozy sitting area and full kitchen for all the guests to use, as well as a nice balcony that overlooks busy Burns Avenue - you'll likely find Betty there too and she was a pleasure to talk to while watching the people below go about their day.

…town. On the way, strangely enough, we picked up Dion's wife from the Princess Casino - and then he dropped me off in front of the Casablanca Guesthouse where I'll be staying the next couple nights.
I checked in and met the very nice lady, Betty, who ran the place and who i booked the room from by email a few nights before I left. They showed me to my room… Xunantunich & 'Cayo' |
