Ecuadorian Culture house - Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana Aug 17, 2009
Located in La Mariscal - New Town, the Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana is a cultural complex.
Following buildings are part of it: -Big glass building with most important museums in town, such as the "Museo Nacional Banco Central del Ecuador" about Ecuadorian history and the Ecuadorian Art and Musical Instruments museum. Inside this building there is also a theater where there are some lectures. -The "Arbolito Park" is also part of this complex and there were a book market and also a handi craft one. -There's also an old big house "casona", which contains the offices and 2 exhibitions' areas. Work exhibited here belong to nowadays Ecuadorian artists. Entrances to the museums have different fees, but walking around the complex or visiting the old house is free. I'd suggest to stop here and learn a bit more about Ecuadorian history :) Part of the Back to Ecuador: an International Mini Meet Up and Gastronomic tour II - the sequel :P travel blog |
