Great apartment in rome Apr 10, 2008

Two friends and I booked the apartment at Casa Navona for the Christmas time period. The location was perfect. Piazza Navona is literally right outside the front door. The Pantheon and Campo di Fiori within a 5 minute walk. Within a 20 minute walk of St. Peters and Ancient Rome...or just a short walk to the major bus routes. We booked apartment 1, but actually received apartment 2...but no problem. The stairs are not as steep as expected...but are stone and rather uneven which makes them a little dangerous...but we had packed light. The room had a double bed in a bedroom and a pullout sofa in the living room, so we thought we were going to have to share...as we had been told by the property manager. We were pleasently surprised to discover that the footstool in the living room folded out into a cot as well, so we had three beds. Even with the christmas market right across the street in the piazza, we could barely hear it with the windows closed. The downside to this is with the windows closed, the apartment got rather warm and the smell of pizza from the pizza shop on the ground floor filled the apartment.

When I clicked to book...it was still 150/night. By the time I finalized, it was down to 120/night...and recent searches on Venere still show 120/night.

poohstanggt says: We spent four days in Rome last summer after finishing off our two week cruise and we opted to book the room ourselves versus through Princess as all their options were $400-600 a night. I was on a mission to find a hotel that had a shuttle service into the city (cab fare is INSANE in Rome) and a p...

Amanda says: OK, well now you're just being silly. First, you let me go to Rome - and then you tell me I get to stay HERE? This place was the perfect hotel for our one, lone night in Roma. We arrived in Rome early in the day, spent the day and the night in Rome, and then left the next evening. Obviou...
