Casa Kiwi Travel Reviews

Oct 01, 2007
Really expensive, and wasn't worth the money in our opinions. We paid $60,000 COP a night for a small room with double bed, no key for room. Only good thing about it was that it has a pool table and big screen TV but they compete for sound as are right next door. Very much a party house, with noise levels having to be down by 2am. Also, witnessed drugs being used by both guests and staff. Not impressed at all.

Casa Kiwi is located in El Poblado, 5 blocks away from Parque Lleras.
This is hostel is located a very nice area with restaurants, bars, clubs within walking distance. The hostel has a kitchen, full internet access, big screen tv, pool table, drinks, laundry services.

Pros: Cheap, clean, friendly staff, everything is close by, safe area, plenty of resources of activities you can do in Medellin, opportunities to meet and develop new friendships with other travelers

Cons: Beds were hard, shower water took a long time to heat up.

I stayed 2 nights at the Kiwi before moving into a private Medellin apartment. It was fun, even though i didn't get a good nights rest.

I recommend the Kiwi to anyone on a travel budget, traveling alone seeking to make new friends. Check out their website for more photos!
