The same owner owns both Villa Carolina (the place i used in Manila)and Casa Camilla. Its seems like exactly the same thing ,but on the beach. The rooms are nicer ,but also more pricey. I decided to try the 12bed dorm and its seems ok , a little worried about security, but perhaps its only me being sceptical.
The staff are good. Good Budget choice. Other good budget choices are Dave Straws hat and Melindas Garden. They are located right next door. I liked Melinda's Garden the best ,but they only had the most expensive rooms vacant at the time of my visit. Prices: Dorm P300 (p250 in the high season) Single Fan P800 Double Aircon , balcony , kitchen P1800 Double Aircon with Hottub and alot of other things for P4000 (These prices changes in the high/low/peak season) PS: There is an Internetcafe right next door charging P60 an hour This is Casa Camilla and NOT Villa camilla (located 2mins away) towards Boat Station 3. was staying in the Dorm here and its perfectly safe. Ive had pretty valuable things lying around and nothing got stolen. The staff will ask you if you want to share dinner or breakfast if you are planning to cook something. great little getaway in station 3 Jun 30, 2009
ive been coming to casa camilla since 2006. Ive always found the staff friendly helpful and willing to attend to you any time of the day. The owners bill and lorna are always approachable with a wealth of local knowledge and information. The chalets are clean and comfortable with cable tv and hot showers.THERES ALSO A patio where you can cook alfresco or just chill. The brilliant white sands are only 30 to 50 metres away where you can laze sunbath or swim. theres been extra rooms built thats also sympathetic with the surrounding area.just a short walk away you have cafes bars etc.Casa camilla is just a chillout place where you can just go to laze and do what you want there are moaners who want to be wined and dined have personal servants etc but glad to say thay go after a day or2 when they know they are not getting pampered. As for insects etc this is nature its all over the world. Ipersonally take photos of the lizards ,spiders etc because we dont have the like in britain. But it dont matter where you go on boracay thats nature even when you walk on the beach you have the likes of sand fly etc .Ifor one love casa camilla and im sure the many people who stay there for 1 yr plus would say the same. All i would say is try the place see for yourself if you have concerns just ask.I for one even help if the workers need a hand digging moving rubbish etc because im not a stuck up tourist but i would like to think im part of the casa camilla family as the owners try to make you feel . again just ask see ya
