Caruso's Corner
Caruso's Corner Reviews
Quaint and unexpectedly sophisticated Aug 20, 2008
SADLY - CARUSO'S IS NOW CLOSED. THE SIGN ON THE DOOR STATES THAT IF THE ECONOMY IMPROVES, THEY'LL CONSIDER OPENING AGAIN.
Upon stepping into the modestly sized restaurant in the Westgate Village shopping center, you are instantly impressed and know that this isn’t your usual dining experience in Tiffin, Ohio. The soft décor and smooth jazz as soon as you come through the door only offer a hint of what’s to come. And what is to come? Great food! Not only does the atmosphere beckon you to stay awhile, but they also offer free Wi-Fi, so bring your laptop and stay while. Before approaching the menu board, be aware that they offer sandwiches, trapinis, full and personal size pizza, salads, soups, Panini, homemade pizzas, various coffees, espressos, lattes, baked loaves of breads, and pastries (lots and lots of delectable, rich pasteries). All breads and baked goods, except for the cheesecake, are made fresh in the store. Customers also can request a special bread for later pickup. I have not been disappointed with anything I’ve had at Caruso’s. Their soup is always top notch. The artichoke and turkey panini was tasty, the cannoli begged to be ordered on my next visit, and the chocolate muffin melted in my mouth. Prices are average, but certainly worth every bite. For the quality of food, I would say that Caruso’s is spot-on. If you’re looking for somewhere to spend a bit more of a quiet luncheon, a business meeting, or just get away with a good pastry and espresso for a few hours, stop into Caruso’s. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. (I just saw online they occasionally offer live jazz certain nights! I’ll head up for that, without a doubt!)
