Caruso Reviews

Mar 31, 2007
Caruso is located at one of the sidestreets just off Laugavegur and is easily distinguishable as it is a yellow and green building. I was keen to try this restaurant again as I was here a few years before my 2007 visit and really enjoyed it. This is one of the many Italian restaurants and is, at least in decorative terms, a bit fancier than the others, although the menus are pretty comparable.

Offering various pasta, pizza, meat and fish courses as you would expect, the atmosphere was quite intimate even although it was absolutely full (probably because it was a Saturday night). The wine list was also very good, but pricey. The only thing which I would say let the restaurant down was the service as the staff were pretty dour. It was an enjoyable meal, nonetheless to end a fantastic week in Reykjavík, but a smile wouldn't have gone amiss!

Book in advance to ensure a table!

p.s. in one of the Reykjavík visitor's guide maps, there is a 10% off coupon for this restaurant.
