Old Sawmill Spring Trail May 07, 2013
My husband and I, took our 15 month old son with up Carr Canyon for a hike. The trail is decent with a steep climb that levels off after about 3 minutes uphill, the rest of the trail is flat, with loose gravel. Make sure you have good hiking shoes with good traction. The vegetation is that of pine, mostly scared from the wildfire of three years ago. Difficulty: Beginners to moderate

The trail also leads past some ruins of the canyon's past inhabitants.

There is a visitor's center at Carr cabin, it is a good idea to stop by the center especially if it is your first time to the canyon. The center provides historical information about the area, a learning center and hiking trail guides.

There is a creek that fills up during the rainy season, it is lush and green in the spring.
