Carnaval Den Bosch 2009 Feb 23, 2009
Every year in February we celebrate Carnaval in 's-Hertogenbosch. The city is in this period named "Oeteldonk". The symbol is a "Oetel", a frog because in old days the city was surrounded by swamps with lot of frogs. Also this frog was chozen to "Van den Oetelaar" a bisshop from Den Dungen who was against this "anti-religious" festival. Also you find our flag during Carnaval which every Bossenaar wears: red white yellow. On monday the famous parade comes to town, on that they many tourists are coming to see the parade and celebrate the Carnaval with us in the various pubs in Town. It is one off the most famous feasts of the year.
