Carlsbad Flower Fields Travel Reviews

Already blooming Jul 02, 2008
While were on spring break, ne of our activities was to visit the flower fields in Carlsbad. Not all the flowers were blooming. They seem to plant them so that during spring there are at least 2 fields in full bloom at a time, so they can harvest the flowers and still have a massive amount to stare in awe at.
They have a few activities for kids, such as collecting stamps through various stations in the field to get a discount in the rock mining, so that's another thing to do, rock mining, they also offer wagon rides that take you along the outskirts of the path around the whole field and they also have a really awesome sweet pea maze. Along with millions of flowers around you. We opted to walk the fields versus having us towed around. But you can do both if you really wish, just make sure to wear lots and lots of sun block! Please note, if you plan on walking the grounds, know that the field is spread over 50 acres!! Most of the flowers on the hillside are endless rows of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus.

I had been wanting to visit this place for years now and am glad I finally had the chance to go. So worth seeing for yourself. Oh yes, and from the fields you have a clear view of the Pacific Ocean to the west... soooo pretty!
