If you are looking for culture in your travels, the Caribbean is where you want to go.
The Caribbean encompasses 970,000 square miles of the Atlantic Ocean. It is bordered in the north and east by the West Indies; the south by South America, and the west by the Central America isthmus. Caribbean water is clear, clean, warm (75 degree F) and less salty than that of the Atlantic Ocean. The Caribbean is a hotbed of tourist activity offering luxurious resorts on most every island. Each island offers it's own unique history, culture, and more than likely, rum. Popular for spring break vacations or extended cruises. If you like beautiful clear water, warm sand between your toes and sandals, and alcoholic drinks with little umbrellas, then you should look for some islands in the Caribbean. Just spending time relaxing in the warmth of the tropics, you can always find something to do.

Havana, Cuba -› Cancun, Mexico -› ...
On my last day I experienced Cuba at its most frustrating. After eating a delicious Cuban breakfast at our casa and saying our sad goodbyes to Sergio, Miriam, and their daughter, we departed for the airport. We checked in with the airline and got through customs with no problem. I wanted to get rid of as much evidence as I could of me being in Cuba before returning to the U.S., so I spent my last few CUC$’s on a book (Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "One Hundred Year's of Solitud...

Montego Bay, Jamaica -› Negril, Jamaica -› ...
Leaving Jamaica was one of the hardest things I've had to do in a long time. I was darn near tears when going because really, who wants to leave paradise?!? We woke very early that morning, got our luggage together and waited for our driver to arrive and take us to the airport where we checked in. At least I was able to have one last beef patty available at a shop in the airport before leaving.

I must start off stating How exited I was going on this trip. This was my first international trip outside the US. I have visited Toronto, Ontario, Canada before but for the record this was the one. I mentioned to my son Elliot (cabotono) my desire to go to the Dominican Republic. This was really one of the destinations I wanted to go. My husband traveled frequently to Dominican Republic and again I never had the opportunity to go. One day my son Elliot gave me the usual daily phone call (all...

Oslo, Norway -› Havana, Cuba -› ...
Oslo - Havana, this will be a long day.
I have had a dream; se Cuba before Castro dies. Last autumn I realised I had to hurry when Fidel got health troubles.
I got the opportunity to be part of a group bicycling for 14 days. Our route is from the Havana in the North to Vinales in the West, via Pinar del Rio to Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Sancti Spiritus in the East and back to Havana.
