Carel 3 (Carel's Cafe) Amsterdam Reviews
Eating cheap but good in Amsterdam city centre Feb 08, 2011
Carels III is a very nice restaurant, nice because it's cheap and still good, quality and quantity are good. This restaurant aims not at tourists but at students. That's what makes the prizes to be quite low.
The cuisine is French, so no hamburgers, no pizza's or bami, but steak, salmon, and quite a few other dishes from Europe, who do not have a specific cuisine (like Greece and Italy do).
The menu is quite small, about 4 pages in total. That's including the drinks. But the menu changes regularly. The restaurant is quite dark, so its coosy and can be a bit romantic, but the restaurant is noisy too.
You won't find this restaurant easily, because it's situated in a paralel street with the Kalverstraat and Damrak.
Main course is between 9.95 euro and 19.95 euro
They do have their own website: http://www.carels3.nl/

Carel 3 (Carel's Cafe) is a neat little cafe/restaurant in the center of Amsterdam, situated in a small alley near the Kalverstraat (the big shoppingstreet). Very cosy interior and excellent food, at a very reasonable price. Good quality and quantity.
There are about 60 places, so you might wanna make reservations before going there.
(main course 9,50 - 14 euros and their fresh Mint tea is highly recommandable - 2,75 euro)
