Stephen:La cite de Carcassone, the largest walled town in Europe, is a top five tourist attraction in France.  We walked up to it and split up. Dawn and I ended up taking a French language tour of the inner chateau given by a young, Polish woman in her first week of giving tours. DAY 42 Friday 20th July Motor to Carcassonne with Penny very quickly learning the ropes and manage to tie up in the middle of town. I had expected it to be very busy but there’s lots of space. Bob and Diane join us bringing very welcome supplies of gluten-free food and whisky DAY 43 Saturday 21st July Pay a quick trip to the market and then plan to spend the afternoon looking round the old city of Carcassonne. A great colleague of mine rented a villa in southern France and invited me over. I took 3 days off from work and drove 1200 kilometers one way with a buddy of mine to relax in the southern French region. We even spent a few hours swimming in the Mediterranean!

This was the plan: to catch the 10:30am bus from Avignon to Barcelona.  Sounds so simple, right?  Well I arrived at the bus station @ 10am & then left it again around 12:15, as the bus was not apparent and I decided that two hours waiting for a bus was about my limit.  This was a Eurolines bus - the major Europe-wide bus company - not some dodgy local deal, but as it was a Sunday the Eurolines office was closed, so about 6 of us just stood around waiting, not knowing what w…

Una bellicima ciudad amurrallada que vio pasar por sus suelos la historia del sur de francia. Desde el apogeo de los Trencavel, su sitio en la crusada argevina, su apogeo bajo el rey de francia en 1226, su declive en 1659 y su restauracion en el siglo XIX. Y el domingo pues teniamos contemplado ir a carcasonne, ke esta  a1 hora en tren y es una ciudad fortificada, esta super fregona, es toda super medieval y esta grande, es tipo st-malo, y el 14 de julio(dia de la rev franc) hacen show pirotecnico y es el 2do mas grande de europa, primero esta la torre eiffel.
