The end of day four of our Haggis adventure took us to another castle...and we were spending the night there!  This is Carbisdale Castle, built over 100 years ago for a very wealthy woman.  The castle was given to the youth association in the 1940's.  This incredible castle was converted into a youth hostel and has been open for over 60 years!  The interior of the castle is huge, with gigantic rooms, multiple kitchens, and tons of spooky murals and statues.  Yes, it i…

After what I'd call a lovely lovely night, woke up that morning fairly late and left around 10am. It was sunny and I'd become good friends with Brad who was good company throughout the journey. The only problem being that the final leg was boring. Our first stop was the Culloden Battlefield. We went for a walk with an explanation on the significance of this place. We stayed one night in a castle in the highlands of Scotland, it came with, of course, some spooky ghost stories. But I'm a total sucker for them so I was absolutely petrified the entire night! The castle came complete with a rather weird statue room full of white ladies, secret passages that led to suspicious winding underground tunnels (I'm sure they've been used for some foul purpose), and stern matrons who warned us not to make so much noise at midnight.
