Happy Independence Day! Derinkuyu is Cappadocia’s largest excavated underground city, and a portion (about 10%) of it is open to tourists. Today we explored its labyrinthine tunnels and stairways, descending about 55 meters (180 feet) underground. What a way to live! In one area, we were crouched way down -- actually bent in half -- while climbing a long stairway, as the tunnel around us got smaller and smaller. I thought, “Hmmm, I’ve had this experience before…in a nightmare!â€...

Wow! It's been 4 years in Turkey at Incirlik AB and man! I'm I ready to get out of here! The country was a great country for site seeing. It is an archeologist wet dream because of the excavation restricitions and the lack of funding the country has (or just won't part with) I will surely come back this way again and recommend everyone else to try it!

We really thought we had pushed ourselves in the walking of the first couple of days in Beyoglu, but we were lazy bums compared to what lay in store for us on this two day tour. You want to get your body moving again after jet lag? Hire an enthusiastic and ultra-fit tour guide. If you want to take a deep dive in the historic culture of Cappadocia from the Hittites to modern day, hire a university professor. If you want both, then you’d better get Sami! A lifeti...

Culture that is unique blend of east and west. It was a major eye-opener. One can never fault the Turkish people for their warm hospitality and apple teas...lots and lots of apple teas!

Well, where to start… And where to finish. And, while I'm pondering, where to go in the middle. Istanbul, Istanbul, Istanbul. Is Turkey the most incredible country on Earth? Yes, I know, I have a bad habit of falling in love with countries, but this place is amazing. The sheer size of this city would blow you away. So, let me start from the start. Got the bus from Canakkale, about 6 hours later we arrived in Istanbul. The city is colossal. Arriving at the bus station was like arrivi...

Welcome!
My travel started 10 years ago and I am now travelling mainly with my husband and two daughters.
My family is quite international as our girls have 3 nationalities.
First on is a European(we live in London ), second one is down under(my husband is a kiwi) and the last on is a far-eastern(I am a Korean).
We'd like to celebrate differences in race, religion, age and class, etc. by travelling around.
Hope you enjoy reading different types of travels as well.
