Capilla de La Estrella Sevilla Reviews
Authnetic little church in Sevilla Nov 13, 2010
Located in the San Jacinto area of Sevilla, the Capilla de la Estrella is a lovely little authentic church to visit. Usually, the churches of any major tourist city get swamped with tourists. Some of these are there for the photo-taking opportunities, some to tick something off the list and some might be there for a quick prayer.
However, this is definitely a working church and definitely not some sort of art or Christian museum. It was so lovely to see so many Sevillans there stopping in for a quick prayer, bumping into family and friends and having a chit chat with them at the entrance.
The location is not too bad. If you get to the bridge of Isabel II, it takes you maybe five minutes to walk here. The markets are very close by too.
The main chapel is very beautiful and ormate, and there are some paintings which seem very modern, but are not out of place at all, for the church walls.
Authentic, humble and understated, the Capilla de la Estrella makes for a very interesting visit if you are a church enthusiast.
