Cape Town Backpackers Reviews
Best place for single travelers Jun 25, 2008
I had the best time ever in Cape Town, and a lot of this was because of meeting an incredible lot of great people in Long Street Backpackers. I had so much fun with guest from all over the country as well as the really great staff at LSB.

V & A Waterfront
The thing about travelling alone is that you get to meet so many people who are travelling smilar routes, clockwise or anti-clockwise.
Last week In Mozambique, I met Gayle who was hanging out there for 2 weeks with …Backpackers and moved to his place today as I have so many days in Cape Town and too much money will be spend on the accommodation. Honestly, I feel quite bad that Nigel and Shannon (fiancee) even came to the backpackers… The City Of Diversity..Mountains, Beaches, Musuems, Nightscene..you name it |

Hey, all,
Ah! I have just six minutes of Internet time left, so I won't be able to fill you in on everything; but here it goes:

Upon arrival we boarded a tour bus and went around the island, learning about the political struggles for black people pre-1990. We were made to feel very welcome and the place was so relaxed - a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. We had a delicious BBQ that evening consisting of Ostrich steak and Ostrich… In the beginning... |

I can’t believe I almost gave Table Mountain a miss. I was umm-ing and ahh-ing about paying 85 Rand to see it, but it turned out to be worth every cent. I went up the mountain by cable car at about 9.30 am and didn’t come back down ‘til 2 pm a…backpacker’s climbed the mountain from the bottom, and it sounded like his climb was more than pleasant! I would have loved to climb it, but I didn’t really feel like getting robbed. (Apparently people have been getting mugged whilst climbing the mountain alone… Table Mountain |

Woke up 4:45am feeling very comfortable and not wanting to get up. Everyone was making loud packing up noises though so I got up. We left camp around 6am, headed for our final destination - Cape Town. We arrived at Saasveld Lodge on Kloof St (a cont…Backpack for R10 (in reality just a 5min walk away, but Dad didn't want to walk with his heavy backpack) but couldn't check in until 2pm so just left our bags in the storage room and headed back to Saasveld for the township… Our final destination |
