Cap Blanc Nez (in English meaning 'White Nose Cape') is a cape on the Côte d'Opale (Opale Coast) which is about 5km west of Calais. This cape is one of the first sights of France which travelers on the ferry from Dover will see when the ferry goes northwards along the coast towards Calais.

The chalk in the cliffs are very similar to that from over the water at the 'White Cliffs of Dover'

There is a memorial here standing high for the lives lost at sea during the Second World War.

This is a nice place to stop off if doing a cycle ride along the coastal road and there is amble parking for cars. I recommend at least thirty minutes at this site, unless you plan to do some hiking in the area. :)
