Walk the Canyon Rim Trail Feb 05, 2017
Many national parks and monuments feature short trails adjacent to the visitor center. However few are as spectacular as the Canyon Rim Trail. The 0.5 mile trail starts out the back door of the Saddlehorn Visitor enter and winds along Wedding Canyon. The trail is very easy however there are some slick rock faces that need to be traversed at times. Given the fact that the elevation is above 5, 600 I found it better to take it slow walking around the trail. The views from the canyon edge are spectacular particularly in early morning or sunset. The trail ends at Book Cliff Views another area for binoculars and some pictures. The views are simply spectacular and the solitude is wonderful. The trail with stops should take no more than 30 minutes. There is a helpful brochure for Canyon Rim and Window Rocks trail available at the visitor center.
