For $10/hr or $40/day, you can rent a canoe or kayak and go around Barton Creek (the river next to Zilker park) and into Town Lake.
This is a great group activity, or if you're feeling pensive, you can just take a short trip with a friend. There are a few places to rent, but the one we always used was Zilker boat rentals. You might want to call ahead to make reservations in case you're going on a busy weekend so they'll have boats available for you.
