Candi Ratu Boko Yogyakarta Reviews
hidden heritage Feb 20, 2011
Candi Ratu Boko or Ratu Boko Temple or Ratu Boko Palace was built around the 8 Century (predicted) during the Syailendra Dinasty.
Unlike the other huge heritage of Borobudur and Prambanan temples, the Ratu Boko was destroyed - only some parts of the palace can be seen as parts of buildings. That is why it is not as famous as the other two temples. And Ratu Boko is not only a temple but it is a palace that was also used for meditation, relaxation and to find peacefulness.
The unique thing is that it was built by a Buddhist but the building has strong Hindus influence. Also, it is located in the pretty high land (so do not forget to bring some water as the walking is pretty tiring).
Recommended to visit in the morning or during sunset when the weather is good so you can see the view from the top of the place facing the mountain and Prambanan temple.
The entrance fee is around USD 10 for foreigners.
